Expectations from Owner

To safeguard your animals health, there are several procedures the owner must follow. Anytime your pet is going in for surgery, please follow these guidelines:

No food after 10:00 p.m. prior to surgery; water is fine.

Must be up-to-date on vaccines.

Your pet must be dropped off at the office between 9:00-10:00 a.m.; depending on the procedure, your pet will either go home that afternoon between 4-4:30 p.m. or other wise discussed.

If you cannot make your scheduled appointment please call ahead of time, preferably 24 hours, to reschedule.

Incision has to be kept clean and dry.

Sutures need to be removed 10-14 days after surgery .

Depending on the surgery, the doctor might administer antibiotics.

For any surgical procedure, we recommend bloodwork to ensure your pet is healthy enough to withstand anesthesia.

Surgery can be very painful, therefore we highly recommend pain medication to keep your beloved pet as comfortable as possible.

Activity has to be restricted ( no jumping, playing, swimming, etc.) until sutures are removed.
